Take control of your inactive users

Active User is the answer for the thousands of community website owners who find themeselves with an ever increasing number of users who clog up the database, yet haven't visited for months. Or even years. They sit in your member lists, taking up space, lessening the experience for the active, committed users you want to keep.

Active User sits in the background, keeping on top of when all your users last logged on. Eventually, after an amount of time you specify, an inactive user is flagged up. They are then placed in the deletion queue, ready to be removed.

With the grace period function, you can give your inactive users a helping hand. Once they become inactive, it emails the user to warn them that they will be removed soon (you can choose how long 'soon' will be). It gives them a chance to come back and login. If they still don't, they can't say they weren't warned!

Active User works with every WordPress site. But a really special feature is that it is compatible with BuddyPress (the number one WordPress community plugin). In these sites, Active User swaps to a 'last active' metric, rather than 'last logged on'. This gives it a higher level of accuracy.

Active User is also safe to use. It doesn't automatically delete anyone, and when it gives you the choice to delete a user, it uses WordPress's own deletion system. This means that you will have a chance to save any user data before you confirm the removal.

Don't let inactive users clog up your database. Install Active User today to start tracking logon data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have you got a question about Ultimeter? Check out some of the most popular questions and answers below, or head to our support pages for more detailed help.

WordPress sites do not track last logon data for users. This means that data isn't there until Active User is activated. So until each user logs on, they will show as 'no data', in the list table. This is actually a limitation of WordPress itself, and one that doesn't appear to be about to be resolved. We strongly suggest that community website owners install Active User as soon as possible, to start tracking the logon data, even if they don't want to use the other features yet. Fortunately, if your site is built with BuddyPress, 'last activity' data is stored by default, so this restriction is removed.
Yes, for most plugins, we do (and they’re heavily discounted)! When the checkout screen opens you can choose between a range of site options under 'Plan Selected' at the top. If you have any other requirements, please get in touch via our support page.

If you purchased an annual license, then yes, you can still use the plugin in its full capacity even after your licence expires. However, you will no longer be able to receive updates or support for the plugin.

If you purchased a lifetime license then your license will never expire!

Generally yes. All our licences come with an additional one you can use within a development environment, for free. This means that if you develop using a localhost domain, or TLDs/subdomains that are clearly development environments (*.dev, *.local etc) you will be good to go.

If you have any questions, or cannot get a development licence to work, just let us know.

Absolutely. If during the next 30 days you experience an issue that makes the plugin unusable and we are unable to resolve it, we'll happily consider offering a full refund of your money.

The following are not included in the guarantee:

  • Missing feature(s)
  • 3rd party conflict
  • You discover a better alternative
  • You changed your mind

We test all our plugins using multiple themes and environments. As long as the theme you choose is well-coded and adheres to WordPress standards, our plugins will work.

However, we can't test with every theme, so if you run into any issues, just let us know. Sometimes we have to make really minor tweaks to make our plugins play perfectly with others. Which we love doing.

Yes, your subscription will renew automatically every year, unless you cancel it. If you do decide to cancel it, your licence will still be valid for the paid-for period; this means you will still receive updates and support during that time.
